The theme of the 2012 Summer School is the interplay between mobile
objects such as unmanned vehicles - underwater, ground and aerial, and
wireless sensor networks, all collaborating towards a common goal of
monitoring the natural environment for pollution events, and the social
behaviour of animals and birds. The lectures will convey the integrated
approach required in the design and deployment of such a system in the
Doñana Natural Park in south-western Spain, and dealing with pertinent
issues such as planning, wireless communication, and security. The
participants will have the opportunity to develop simple prototypes of
ideas presented during the lectures under the guidance of experts and
interact with the speakers in the residential setting of Bertinoro.

The following people will benefit from attending the Summer School:

• Doctoral students and young researchers in the technical disciplines
of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Robotics
• Doctoral students and young researchers in biological disciplines of
environmental science, and wild life conservation
